We love listening to good stories over a glass of wine here in southern Styria.
A few of them have already been written here at Weinlandhof! Because the roots of our hotel date back to the 19th century. Our grandparents developed the first guest rooms from a simple village inn in the 1960s. Little by little, and from generation to generation, our house “grew” – and with it our family ties. As hotel with long traditions in Gamlitz the Weinlandhof is now one of the leading tourism accommodations in southern Styria.
We - Thomas & Rosemarie Pichler - lead the hotel as the 3rd generation as a family business. With Rosemarie's parents, Rosa & Arnold Wratschko, and our sons, Valentin & Florenz, three generations are currently united under one roof at Weinlandhof.
For us, it is the personal encounters with people that make a holiday something very special. Not only do we enjoy the family atmosphere, but so do our guests.

The history of Weinlandhof goes back to the 19th century, when our grandparents developed the first guest rooms from a simple village inn in the 1960s. Little by little the house “grew” and was expanded by our parents to the size and standard that it has today. In recent years, many other adaptations have been made, such as the hotel lobby or the renovation of the restaurant, so that the Weinlandhof is now one of the leading tourism businesses in southern Styria.
The roots of Weinlandhof go back well over 200 years: the family-run Gamlitz village inn on Untere Hauptstrasse was first mentioned in the local chronicle as “Kaiserwirt” in 1794.
The Kaiserwirt is being further expanded. In 1932 the inn was already a business with 5 employees. And even though a lot has happened since then, the family business philosophy from back then has been preserved at Weinlandhof to this day.
In 1966, the Wratschko family business completely reinvented itself: the former Kaiserwirt was demolished. In its place, the Wratschko Inn was being built, with eight guest rooms for the first time. In 1981, son Arnold (today's senior partner) completed business school and business apprenticeship and took over his first duties in his parents' business.
In 1982 Arnold Wratschko and Rosa Gross married. In 1983, their daughter and future Weinlandhof owner, Rosemarie, was born. In the same year, the hotel was expanded to a total of 100 beds and categorized as a 3-star hotel with an à la carte restaurant.
In 2000, Rosemarie successfully completed hotel management school before the major renovation into a 4-star hotel began in 2011. An additional floor was added, seminar rooms and a new restaurant were built.
In 2008, Rosemarie Wratschko married the hotel specialist and sommelier Thomas Pichler from Altaussee. Together with Rosa and Arnold Wratschko they run the Hotel Weinlandhof. In the same year, 30 suites and rooms in the Hotel Weinlandhof were redesigned - they shine in a new, contemporary style.
With 18 employees and 50 rooms, Weinlandhof is now one of the leading businesses in southern Styria and hosts numerous guests every year. The tradition as a family-run hotel is maintained today as it once was and ensures that our guests can feel at home even on vacation.
