Because graveling is the perfect outdoor sport even in late autumn. So nothing stands in the way of a looong cycling season for you!
... and because we will spoil you with the most beautiful routes, an exclusive supporting program and lots of fantastic views on the bike.
For us, there are different types of cyclists: Some, who exclusively ride their beloved gravel bike, or those who exchange their racing bike for a gravel bike at the end of autumn to extend the cycling season. Still others have been toying with a gravel bike for a long time, but don't necessarily want to have another bike at home. And then of course there is the “dedicated racing cyclist“, whom you have to slowly but steadily convince of graveling. But this is another story.
The good thing is: everyone gets their money's worth at the South Styrian Gravel Extravaganza.
Classic racing cyclists can extend their season, exclusive gravel bikers can explore new and, above all, special routes and the all those who're just curious can simply try graveling out for once.
And no matter how you approach it – Southern Styria has WOW moments in store for everyone. Especially in November, when morning fog creates a mythical atmosphere. But don't worry, the sun still has enough power to make its way through and warm your back during the day. The limitless view of the country is there to enchant the senses. And the best part: quiet streets, varied climbs and lots of culinary delights along the way.
Taking A traditional "Jause" is still a Must, particularly, when it comes to gravel biking. And of course: The best routes and resting spots are to be found first. Don't worry, that won't be your challenge this weekend. Thomas and Hannes have put together unique tours for you and even make it possible to take routes through the vineyards which are usually not accessible.
Therefor, we can only offer limited spots at this event. No, we don't want to put any pressure on you to register. But smaller groups are safer and more enjoyable on graveling routes.
Our number of participants is limited. Because small groups are simply more pleasant and safer on gravel routes.
There is hardly a better way to try gravel biking in South Styria than with gravel experts and experts of the region. Together we'll discover hidden routes that would normally remain hidden from cyclists. And the endless views of the region will do the rest. Let the quiet roads, varied climbs and lots of culinary delights along the way enchant you!
Thomas Pichler runs the Weinlandhof together with his wife Rosi. As a "Zuagroaster", (South Styrian dialect word for "not originially coming from Gamlitz"), Thomas had to discover the region himself when he first moved to Southern Styria.
... and often, this is simply more fun on two wheels. So by now, Thomas knows the best race biking tours in southern Styria and can even provide cycling advice for those who grew up here.
